Criteria for Running a 

Craft Unit

The criteria for working from the Craft Centre are as follows:

Type of business

  • The unit holder must make his/her own “product” on site in the workshop (i.e. not a retail outlet). These “products” may be sold from the unit and/or commissions taken.
  • The “product” should be of a “craft” nature.
  • The unit must be open at least 5 days per week (incl. weekends)  in accordance with the opening times of the Centre.
  • The unit holder must allow access to his/her unit for visitors at all opening times.

The workshop

  • It has electricity and running water.

  • Broadband Internet access is available by arrangement.

Costs

  • Licence Fee – Depends on unit position and size £250 – £600 per month + utilities.
  • Small marketing fee payable monthly (£12 currently).
  • Internet access available if required (£12/month).

OPENING TIMES

THE RESTAURANT/CAFÉ

Monday – Sunday    10.00am – 4.30pm

Lunch service is between 12 and 2:30pm (3pm Weekends), outside of this time cakes; dessert and drinks are all available.

CRAFT STUDIOS & SHOPS

Monday – Sunday    10.30am – 4.30pm

Please Note: Most of the craft units/studios are closed for one day per week. If you are wanting to see a specific craft unit you are advised to call them ahead of your visit. Please check their individual webpages for details.
