Top Glass is a glass blowing studio where molten glass can be seen blown in the traditional way. It is incredibly fascinating to watch and the studio is the first port of call on a cold and wet day as the furnace will warm your bones in no time at all!
Established in 1999 by Stuart Fletcher, Top Glass produces colourful, free-blown studio glass. Every day you can view a vast range of glassware being made. From small collectable paperweights to elegant decanters, bowls and candlesticks, the spectacle of molten glass being fashioned by experienced professionals is a sight to behold. If you have children, be prepared to have to physically drag them away! Each piece is handmade from 24% lead crystal, noted for its brilliance and clarity. Due to the very nature of glassmaking, each piece is a one-off as it is not possible to make two identical pieces. They have an extensive display of current designs available in a selection of colours, and we are also happy to undertake commissions and reproduce work. Top Glass has a contemporary and innovative approach to design whilst remaining true to the traditional techniques of glassmaking discovered hundreds of years’ ago.

Jigsaw Trees is the creation of Philip Baldwin, who elegantly crafts a wide variety of household items such as pens and signs from hand.
All of the ‘Jigsaw Trees’ products have been inspired by nature and will be a constant reminder to you of your natural environment. Wooden fretwork of the highest quality is hand crafted in the studio. There are wooden trees, mountains, natural scenes, place names and clocks in stock. Each piece is signed by the artist, giving details of the timbers used. The woods used include Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Ash, Bubinga, Zebrano, Pau Rosa, but there are many more. They are all selected with care for their fine colours, textures and interesting grain. Whilst the ‘Jigsaw Trees’ Collection is extensive and includes examples of many species of tree, commissions can be taken for your favourite tree. Why not call in when you visit the Jinney Ring and discuss your requirements with the artist or e-mail with details. Jigsaw Trees also offer handmade pens and the opportunity to bring your family tree to life with physical carving of your roots.
