Spirit of the Andes and The Alpaca Collection
Alpaca Knitwear and Pima Cotton Clothing
Due to the imminent retirement of the owner of the Alpaca Collection business we are sorry to announce that these collections will no longer be stocked at Jinney Ring after 30th September 2018. As a result we are currently selling remaining stocks at discounted prices and this a a last chance to buy many of these beautifully soft and crafted clothes!
(We are currenty in discussion with a british Alpaca product maker and hope to still have some stocks of handmade alpaca goods available after that date so watch this space!! )
Knitwear by The Alpaca Collection is designed both by their own design team here in England and their own knitters in Peru and Bolivia. Generations of indigenous knitters have produced a myriad of wonderful designs and a large proportion of each Collection includes these unique styles and rich colours.
Spirit of The Andes is a well-loved brand selling knitwear made by artisans in Peru and Bolivia using alpaca and pima cotton. Peruvian and Bolivian communities raise alpacas for their sumptuous wool and resulting luxurious knitwear; similarly their pima cotton provides a comfortable and high quality fabric from which beautiful garments are woven.
If you wish to purchase an item of clothing over the phone, our postage charge is £5.50 for Royal Mail First Class Signed For.
Jewellery and Accessories
Our aim is to provide a range of items that you will not find on the high streets. You'll find good colours and shapes, but we don't buy many - so if you like it, take it, as we will not have more!
We stock a wide range of jewellery from the traditional to the more contemporary; some of this is also handmade locally.
We also sell a wonderful selection of scarves and handbags suitable for a variety of occasions.
Homeware, Gifts and Cards
In the main entrance area of the gift shop sits a cider mill. Although this particular one has not been in use, something very similar would have been used elsewhere in the days when the Jinney Ring buildings were run as a farm, about 400 years ago.
The stone press is currently on view as part of our gift shop displays which change regularly.
Speciality Foods, Wines and Beers
Cottage Delight are our main brand and they are dedicated to offering only the finest possible foodstuffs, made using traditional methods and stringently controlled small batch sizes. The range remains exclusive as it is only supplied to the independent trade, (not available in supermarkets).
We also stock a Gluten Free range.
Our tasting sessions include a selection of Sala, Pâté, Crackers - and cake!
We also sell a small selection of wines, spirits and beers in the gifts shop
