About The Memory Tree

In response to requests by some of our visitors to install commemorative items at the Jinney Ring, we have arranged for a Memory Tree to become part of our gardens. This special commission has been designed by local sculptor Steve Webb, and is sited at the top of the gardens, overlooking the duck ponds.

The tree has been designed to hold 'memories' of loved ones in the form of glass leaves, which are made by the Jinney Ring glassblowing artist Stuart Fletcher and his team at Top Glass, who can also engrave a personalised message onto each leaf.

How to Commission a Leaf

If you would like to purchase a leaf for The Memory Tree, please enquire at the Gift Shop, and a member of the Jinney Ring team will talk to you about your commission.

Click here to view the Memory Tree Agreement document

Your glass leaf can be chosen from the selection available at The Gift Shop which have been created by the glassblowing unit onsite at Jinney Ring. A message of your choice (up to 50 letters) can be hand-etched onto the leaf. Once the leaf is engraved, it will be added to the tree by a member of staff.

The minimum price of the leaf including engraving is £25.00. Of this minimum price, £10.00 is collected on behalf of Alzheimer's Society. Anything paid in excess of the £25.00 will be entirely collected on behalf of the charity. However, we do have to ask that no more than 3 leaves are dedicated to the memory of each person.

The leaf will remain on the tree for 18 months from the date of the agreement. The leaf may be retained on The Memory Tree for an additional period by specific agreement with Jinney Ring Craft Centre, as long as there is sufficient space available. A further donation to charity would be appreciated at this point. Once your leaf is taken down from The Memory Tree, you will be contacted to collect it from us.

(Please note that no other leaves or adornments will be permitted on The Memory Tree, at its base or elsewhere in the gardens.)

About the Artist - Steve Webb

About the Artist - Steve Webb

Based in Worcester, Steve Webb works in metal and has done so since leaving school and completing an apprenticeship in the early eighties, learning to build fire engines and railcars. Now he creates highly stylised designs, all from his own imagination, and each one unique and individually handmade.

We know Steve at Jinney Ring for his sculptural work which feature in the Gift Shop's Gallery and also in our annual Sculpture Trail in the gardens, but with SPW Ironworks Steve adapts his designs to commissions, ranging from garden gates to spiral staircases. His work has even featured on the London stage.
