With my background in textile design I naturally gravitate towards compositions with a strong sense of pattern, texture and richness of colour.
I work in acrylic on canvas, enjoying the freedom of expression this medium allows. I love sharp contrasts of colour creating areas of depth and light within my work and enjoy combining very free brush work with detail.
I am influenced by my surroundings. The juxtaposition of light and dark in woodland, of sunshine and shadow and the patterned reflection in water. All of these inspire me to create.
My compositions contain elements of both abstraction and design as I aim for a free-flowing structure to my work.
The exhibition will be on display in the Jinney Ring Farmhouse Restaurant.
